However, if you contact the dealers who advertise in this magazine, you should be able to find most of these figurines for sale - as well as the new introductions that are always coming to the market). 1. Royal Doulton from the Doultonville Collection, two toby jugs each 7 1/2" tall: Miss Nostrum the Nurse, introduced in 1983, and Dr. Pulse, the Physician, introduced in 1984. Each list price: $32.00. Currently available. 2. "Rock" doctor, 2 1/4" tall, in green scrub suit, one of a kind by unknown local crafter. 3. Mousey Nurse, 7/8" tall, introduced in 1983 by Annette Petersen in the Wee Forest Folk collection, still available. List price $23.00. 4. Doctor Bear, 1 1/2" tall, by Penni Jonas, from the Pennibears collection. List price $22.00. 5. Girl with stethoscope and boy, "Playing Doctor," from the Leo Jansen Collection of porcelain figurines, 1982 Limited Edition, #2771 of 10,000. 6" tall. Distributed by Kern Collectibles 1982, made in Japan. No longer available except by chance. 6. M. J. Hummel figurine, "The Doctor,", #127 impressed on base, marked West Germany, probably distributed in the 1950s, this figurine is still in production. List price now is $130.00. Older examples have appreciated in value. 7. Doctor, girl, and doll figurine from a Saturday Evening Post cover by Norman Rockwell. Porcelain figurine with wood chest. 6" tall, 7 3/4" wide, 7" deep. No longer in production. I bought this one several years ago for around $100.00. Issue price in 1973 was $65.00. Has two paper labels pasted on the base: 1) A Dave Grossman Creation, Taiwan, and 2) Saturday Evening Post Authorized Reproductions. There is a new but different Norma Rockwell figurine just out with the same subject matter but different. (See another slide). 8. Capo-di-monte porcelain figurine, 9 1/2" tall, 5" wide, and 9 1/2" deep. Marked with symbol, plus Capo-di-monte, Real Porcelain, Hand Made in Italy. List price $235.00. They make several other occupational figurines that are as exquisite as this one. Capo-di-Monte also makes a nurse 10" tall, circa $100.00. 9. Porcelain nurse music box, plays "Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down." In mail order catalogs last Christmas. Label says: Price Products, Bellmawr, N. J., Made in Taiwan. Exact price unknown, because my daughter gave it to us as a Christmas gift, but I think it was about $15.00. 10. Doctor and Nurse china salt and pepper shakers, red label on bottom says "Fine Quality, LEGO, Japan." I bought them at an antique mall for $25.00 for the pair. 4" tall. 11. A Precious Moments figurine, currently available, list price $50.00. Entitled as printed on the bottom of the figurine: HE'S THE HEALER OF BROKEN HEARTS, copyright 1986 Samuel J. Butcher, Enescu Imports Corp. 6" tall. Precious Moments has other nurse and doctor figurines, some current and some not: Perfect Boy, Angel Mercy, and Time Heals are some that I know of. 12. Seated doctor figure, 8" tall. Printed on bottom: THE DOCTOR, Royal Doulton Tableware Ltd. 1978. Still available. List price $350.00. First introduced in 1979 at $225.00. 13. Hummel figurine Little Nurse, 4" tall. Printed on bottom: Goebel, W. Germany. New introduction. List price $200.00. 14. The Doctor from the Emmett Kelly, Jr. Professional Series, porcelain, 6 1/4" tall, printed on bottom: The Emmett Kelly, Jr., Collection, Exclusively from Flambro. Currently available. List price $50.00. Many other occupational figurines are available in this line.. 15. "Florence," one of the Tom Clarke Gnomes, $50.00. 8" tall. Cast resin. From the Cairn Studio in North Carolina. I wish I had the Tom Clark figurine, "Doctor Grey", copyright 1983 and now retired and listed for Around $120.00 when it was available.. Reportedly, this figurine is now bringing $700.00 in the secondary market. 16. Mickey Mouse. From Walt Disney by Hudson Pewter. Hand cast in pewter, 2 1/8" tall. List price $23.00. 17. The Frump Doctor, a limited edition, hand cast of pecan shell flour and resin, painted, and stained. Conceived by Artist Douglas Harris of Texas. 9" tall. Price $50.00. 18. The Frump Nurse, companion to above doctor, by same artist, 9" tall. Price $50.00. This artist has many other occupational figurines available, including some you don't find very often, such as chef, computer whiz, gun fighter, and sea captain among others. 19. The Doctor, from artist Ron Lee's clown collection. Fine white metal, 24 carat gold plated, and hand painted, mounted on an imported onyx stand. 5" tall. List price $100.00. 20. Three doctor figurines carved out of wood: general practitioner, internal medicine, and surgeon. Exact attribution and original price unknown. The surgeon has a paper label from the ANRI company of woodcarvers in Italy. 21. Four small assorted figurines, original attribution and price unknown. 22. Old fashioned doctor with stethoscope and purple coat on green base, exact attribution and original price unknown. Paper label says: ENESCO, Make in Taiwan, Republic of China. 23. Two similar doctor figurines, exact date of introduction and price unknown. The doctor with the baby has a paper label on base that says: Made in Japan. The other figurine has no label or marks. 24. "Love Cures All," new from the premier issue in Rockwell's GEMS OF WISDOM collection. 4 1/2" tall. List price $50.00. Similar to the other doctor, girl, and doll Rockwell figurine issued in 1973. 25. The McClellan's "The Nurse" and "Doc," exclusive edition from Reco Collectibles, printed on base of each figurine. Also has paper label saying: Made in Japan. List price $25.00 each. 26. Doctor and Nurse matching figurines from House of Global Art. These pieces are now closed out. Original list price $45.00 each. No markings on either one, although each one has a black and gold label on base that says: House of Global Art, Hand Painted in Japan. #####
